Recruitment roadshow to visit Haddington Farmers’ Market

ELCAP will visit Haddington Farmers’ Market in a bid to recruit new Support Practitioners from the town.

After recent recruitment events in Dunbar and at the Fort Kinnaird retail park, the charity will be taking a stall at the popular market on Saturday 25 September 2021.

ELCAP Chief Executive, Paul White, said:

“We want to strengthen and grow our team, not only to meet the needs of the individuals we support currently but also to enable us to take on new services and make a difference to the lives of more people in Haddington and beyond.

A number of colleagues have joined us following recommendations from friends and family, but it’s important that we reach out to even more people in our community and spread the word about job opportunities at ELCAP.

A career in social care offers job satisfaction and job security.  In our most recent survey, 98% of staff said they enjoyed working for us, while our average length of service is seven years.”

Reflecting on recent recruitment events, White said:

“We were a bit unlucky with the weather at Fort Kinnaird, but we still managed to speak to a number of shoppers about working for ELCAP.  We enjoyed sunnier weather in Dunbar, which meant that people were happier to stop for a chat about our job opportunities.  We are grateful to the team at The Bear and Bull for hosting our event.

We’re now looking forward to spreading the word at Haddington Farmers’ Market.  We hope to meet lots of people with an interest in working for our charity.  If time permits, we’ll also want to check out the other stalls.”

Widely recognised as the “friendly market”, Haddington Famers’ Market is based in Court Street and runs from 9.00am till 1.00pm on the last Saturday of the month.
