New values for ELCAP

New values for ELCAP

ELCAP has announced a new set of values which set out the behaviours expected of everyone in the organisation.

The values are as follows:

  • We care – and keep on caring.
  • We treat others with kindness and understanding.
  • We communicate well.
  • We are adaptable.
  • We go the extra mile.

Agreed by ELCAP’s Executive Board at its meeting on 23 February 2022, the values were developed following an extensive consultation process which involved the individuals ELCAP supports and their families, as well as staff.

Welcoming the adoption of the values, Board Chair, Bette Francis, said:

“Like the words in a stick of Blackpool Rock, we want our values to run right through our organisation.  Our values should inform every aspect of our work and be upheld by everyone involved in our charity – from our dedicated team of Support Practitioners, to our office staff, managers and Chief Executive, to the members of our Board.”

ELCAP Chief Executive, Paul White, said:

“Values are basic and fundamental beliefs that guide or motivate our attitudes and actions.  They describe how we want to be, as individuals, as teams and as an organisation.

In the course of an Investors in People assessment, we learned that resilient and successful companies have three to five values.  We took that advice on board and developed a set of values which should be meaningful – and memorable – for everyone involved in ELCAP.”
