Good turn-out at ELCAP’s online AGM

For the second year in succession, ELCAP’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held online, for COVID-19 safety reasons.

The event, which was held on Friday 29 October, attracted a good attendance.  The audience included a number of prominent local politicians, including Councillor Shamin Akhtar, Colin Beattie MSP, Paul McLennan MSP, Councillor Fiona O’Donnell and Martin Whitfield MSP.

Reflecting on the event, Bette Francis, Chair of ELCAP’s Executive Board, said:

“While we would have loved to meet everyone over a cup of tea and some sandwiches, our priority was to continue to keep people safe from the risks presented by COVID-19.

The last 20 months have made us much more used to meeting online and the format of the meeting worked pretty well for us.  As always, we received a number of pertinent questions, as well as many messages of support for ELCAP.  It’s lovely to hear that people are taking notice of our work and the difference we make.

And it was great for me to hear about the progress of our innovative communication project, Our Voice, Our Choice. I’m grateful to Katie Cunningham and Kelly Evans from NHS Lothian for taking the time to tell us about a joint initiative we are all proud of.”

The Presentation to ELCAP’s 2021 Annual General Meeting  and Our Voice, Our Choice AGM presentation are now online.
