Get on Board with ELCAP

ELCAP’s Board of Trustees is looking for new members – and that’s where you come in.  As someone with an interest in our organisation, we hope you will consider getting involved in our life-changing work.

Every charity has a governing body which makes sure they do the right things and do things right. At ELCAP, we call this body the Board and it takes responsibility for leading, controlling and supervising our activities.

Our Board is made up of up to 15 members, who volunteer their experience, knowledge and skills for ELCAP.  The Board makes important decisions about the running of our organisation.  It makes these decisions as a team, and after discussion.

The Board meets every three months, at our offices in Prestonpans or online.  We expect Board members to attend these meetings and to read the papers which have been prepared for them.

ELCAP Chief Executive, Paul White, said:

“We are fortunate to have an excellent Board at ELCAP, but like all charities, we need to refresh and strengthen it from time to time.

Our Board has thought carefully about ELCAP’s future needs.  We would particularly welcome the involvement of family members of the individuals we support, members of our local business community and colleagues with a good understanding of health and social care.  Like many Boards, we would also welcome the involvement of younger people who share our vision, mission and values.”

Anyone with an interest in joining ELCAP’s Board of Trustees should call 01875 814114 or send an email to enquiries@elcap.org.
