February is music month

Our charity regularly uses social media to connect with people in our community.  On ELCAP’s Facebook page, February is music month.

Friends of ELCAP are being asked to share the songs that matter to them.  It could be someone’s favourite song of all time, a songs which brings back happy memories or a top tune which makes us feel good.

In addition, visitors to our Facebook page are asked to share photos and videos of them enjoying or playing music.  We’re already finding that ELCAP people have hidden talents!

To share your photos, song suggestions and videos, simply get in touch with goodnews@elcap.org.  We’d love to hear from you.

Reflecting on February’s music month, ELCAP Chief Executive, Paul White, said:

“Music is there for us in good times and bad.  It can provide the icing on the cake when things or going well or pull us through when times are tough.  Most importantly, it brings people together.

Our community is at the heart of everything ELCAP does.  While COVID-19 has made it harder for us to connect face-to-face , social media lets us reach out and share our enthusiasms and experiences.

Maggie Henderson, a member of our Admin Team, is doing a great job in helping us bring people together through Facebook and other platforms.  She came up with our music month theme, so I’m looking forward to finding out what her favourite song is.  It could anything from Echo and the Bunnymen to Gerry Cinnamon!

Many of the individuals we support are huge music fans.  We’re really keen to find out the songs which are special to them.”
