AGM
ELCAP’s Annual General Meeting this year was held at the Kings Manor Hotel, in Edinburgh on Monday 27th November 2023. Even though it was a very cold afternoon with blustery rain, nearly 30 people braved the weather to attend this year’s AGM.
Those attending included two past Executive Board Chairs, previous board members along with individuals ELCAP supports, staff and members of the leadership team. In addition, supporting the occasion was local councillor and Depute Leader, Shamin Akhtar who took the opportunity to thank ELCAP for its tireless service to both the East and Midlothian local communities. She later said, “The organisation is vitally important to many people across East Lothian who are affected by learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health issues. It was evident from the AGM that staff were passionate about making a difference to people across East Lothian enabling them to live better, more independent lives within the local community.”
During the AGM, we presented a comprehensive overview of our financial performance, highlighting our achievements, challenges, and future prospects. We are proud to report that all resolutions proposed during the AGM were successfully passed, demonstrating the strong support and confidence our members have in our company’s vision and leadership. These resolutions included important matters such as the approval of financial statements, the appointment of auditors, and the election of board members.
Another success from this year has been the work carried out by our Community Coordinator, developing the Chatty Cafes and giving a wider voice to those individuals ELCAP supports. Furthermore, the AGM provided an opportunity to recognise and appreciate the hard work and dedication of our employees. We acknowledged their contributions and celebrated their achievements, which have been instrumental in our growth and success.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all attendees for their active participation and valuable contributions to making our AGM a success. Your continued support and trust in ELCAP are vital as we strive to achieve our goals.
