ELCAP seeks to involve people who use it's services, and their families or representatives, at all levels in the working of the organisation.

Three of 15 places on the Executive Board are reserved for nominees of the Advisory Council, which is only open to members who also use ELCAP's services.

People who use ELCAP's services are involved in staff recruitment, training and appraisals.

Every other year ELCAP holds an Open Space or World Café event to which all users of the service are invited, together with family, friends, staff and anyone else with an interest in the work of the organisation. At these events everyone gets the opportunity to comment on how ELCAP works and what it should be doing differently.
